2019 Operation COmpassion

In 2019, the Retreat of Awakening partnered with the Lotus School Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization with a mission to build schools in rural, poverty-stricken villages and provide equal education opportunities for children worldwide. Campers collected LEGOs and brought them to our 2019 Retreat. Campers had a chance to re-live their childhood, utilizing their creativity to build "LEGOs Kit Gift" for the Lotus School Foundation, to bring to the rural villages on their mission trip in August 2019. The children in these rural communities have never seen LEGOs, so this was an exciting and educational gift, helping to foster their creative-thinking and motor skills, along with bringing them a TON of JOY!
