OPERATION LOVE

This year, the Retreat of Awakening partnered with Books Between Kids in Houston, Texas.  Since 2012, the Books Between Kids' mission has been to get books into the hands of economically disadvantaged children in the Greater Houston area.   To date, they have given away more than 2 million books to partner schools and early childhood centers in Houston through their book celebration program.  

In aligning with this year's theme Focus on Today, we believe that to make tomorrow brighter, we need to cultivate our love for learning and growing, as well as cultivate that Love of Learning in our future generations.  Every future successes starts with the actions/steps we take TODAY.  Hence, let's Focus On Today!

Thank you to all the generous campers for donating 918 children books for the 2024 Retreat of Awakening's Book Drive!!  This ensures that even more at-risk students in Houston have access to age-appropriate books in their homes.
